This past year was a busy, but exciting year for JMurdock Photography. I had the opportunity to work on a variety of exciting projects, which I will cover in future posts so stay tuned. For now I wanted to tell you about a couple of exciting projects that I was very excited an honored to be a part of here in Starkville.

For the past few years I have been fortunate enough to work with SouthComm Communications on the Starkville tourism magazine. They work with the Greater Starkville Development Partnership (GSDP) to create the stories and features and I provide the supporting photography for the articles. I love Starkville and this is a great way for me to highlight the unique people and stories in my community.

Having my photos used to complement the stories is exciting, but the most exciting part is that for the third consecutive year one of my photos was chosen as the cover for the magazine!

Later in 2014, the GSDP led an effort to create a postcard for Starkville. After reviewing submittals from the community, they selected two photos for the postcards. I was honored that two of my photos were selected for the community’s first postcards! One postcard displays a photo of Main Street and Downtown Starkville and the other shows the iconic Holtsinger Avenue in the Cotton District (one of my favorite streets in Mississippi).

If you are interested in a copy of the Starkville tourism magazine or purchasing the postcards, they are available at the GSDP office in Downtown Starkville!
