American Way Magazine is the in-flight magazine of American Airlines. Travel writer Kristy Alpert approached Starkville’s own Chef Ty Thames (Restaurant Tyler, Bin 612, and The Guest Room) about creating a few dishes for their April 2015 edition. The idea was to create restaurant-quality dishes using the popular and quirky Peeps Easter candy. Chef Thames created several amazing dishes that I had the opportunity to photograph. In the end two of the dishes made the article’s list of five, and three photographs were published. The colorful “Angeled Eggs” (as opposed to the typical deviled eggs) and the “Easter Fizz” cocktail were the two highlighted.
It is exciting to know that travelers all over the world are reading about the creative creations of a chef in Starkville, Mississippi.
